This is part of a series of posts and it is probably helpful if you have done them in order. I have created a page on niche selection that lists them in order. You can access by clicking the niche selection link in the header.

Okay review time. You have

  1. Made your lists to find your possible niches
  2. Checked competition and profitability

Now it is time to get prepared to build a keyword list. These are the topics that you will want to rank for in the search engines.

Our first stop will be Google but not the search engine but their adwords keyword tool. This will allow us to start building this list and see what is competitive and profitable. Put your primary topic in and you will see what kind of results it brings.

For this we wil stick with Poodle Training. Here are the first few results

You can see that it has given you a series of keywords that are all related to poodle training. The charts will also show you how competitive and how much search volume there is by the bar graphs.

Eventually you will need to do much more keyword research but this is a good way to get you started.

There are a variety of tools and services available that will allow you to do this but these articles are only to help you get started. Once you are actually going I would recommend you take a day and use a paid service like Keyword Country. They have video tutorials to get you started using their service.

One more step and you will have finished your niche research to get started. This is only a beginning but by doing this research you are much more likely to have success.
